We arrived in Guangzhou around 5 pm last night. The climate is sub-tropical and we are loving it! Our hotel room is great and we are lacking nothing. We meet with our guides in a bit to begin the process of filing Selah’s visa application. Tomorrow we leave the hotel at 9 am for Selah’s medical exam and Visa photo. Tuesday we hope to go to the Guangzhou Zoo and that evening, go on the Pearl River cruise. Selah did great on the flight but had a complete meltdown just as we got to the boarding gate. She was screaming in terror, and alternating between scratching my neck and face to holding on to me for dear life. I was so relieved that our guides gathered around her and told her in Chinese that she was going to Guangzhou with mama and baba and to be a good girl. She settled down quickly and was fine from that point on. It’s hard with the languauge barrier and her age – she is very bright but as a toddler has limited understanding. Its raining here today so after a quick trip to a nearby mall, we are resting. Selah sleeps like a champ. I am getting plenty of rest, I could get used to this!! I’ll leave you with some pics from my phone, as we tried to plug in our power strip and blew a breaker in our room. It doesn’t look like I will be able to post from the laptop for the rest of our stay here, or else we’ll have a very angry Chinese man come back to our room to remove a ceiling panel to reset the breaker again, haha!
