Our appointment at the Consulate this morning was so quick, it was almost a non-event! Selah’s Visa will be ready tomorrow at 3:30 and we will depart for Hong Kong by van at 4:30. It’s a 3 hour drive. Once there, we will settle in to our hotel room for a little sleep. Mike and I plan to be up by 4 and at the Hong Kong airport by 6, as our flight home leaves at 8. :) with the 4.5 hour layover in Minneapolis, it will take us just over 24 hours to get home. At this point, we are so ready – whatever it takes.
Selah continues to do really well. She is bonding with me first but growing more friendly towards Mike. She is grunting at him less. :) we had a breakthrough this week when she shared some Pringles with him, but more impressive was that she also accepted some from him- and ate them!! The funny thing is, is that this little girl of ours doesn’t yet realize that her baba is the *fun one* and the one who will give her candy or take her on adventures, haha!! Mama buys produce and makes sure the chores are done before playtime. All our other kids know they love it best when Dad buys the groceries or plans the day. :) She will figure it out soon enough!
Right after our appointment this morning, we all took taxis to the Pearl Market. Our guides told us where we could find reputable dealers. We picked our own pearls and the employees strung them into necklaces or bracelets within minutes. The prices were reasonable and the choices were endless.
Again, I’m unable to upload pictures, sorry! The internet connection is lost before the image is uploaded. I will have so many pics to add after we are home. Thanks for your prayers and encouragement; we are almost there ! :)
