Hello from the Fix home!
I know it’s been forever since you’ve heard from me. I’m not altogether off the grid, but I’ve certainly been living on the edge of it for the past several weeks. I enjoy being “unplugged,” but it’s nice to keep in touch with the outside world, too. :)
We are busy – Potty training. Homeschooling. Preparing for Vacation Bible School. And just trying to find our new normal.
Selah is trusting Mike more with each passing week, so there’s been a lot of progress. We still have lots of training and adjusting to grow through; we’ll get there in time.
It has become clearly obvious to me that Selah’s heart desperately wants to “fit in.” She mimics Seth to get my attention – as in making car & truck sounds – and seeks my approval. My heart aches for her to understand that we love her for who she is.
Our agency recently produced an adoption advocacy video; we were thrilled to meet the founder, Josh, and his wife on our Gotcha Day. There is some good coverage of our first moments with Selah in this video. We love each of the families you will see in this video! They are a very special part of our lives and we keep them, and China, forever etched upon our hearts. With love, Wendy
